Mountain Biking
You can hire mountain bikes from Byebike (+39 375 554 0986) or at the train station in Chiavenna.
A few years ago I thought the valleys around Chiavenna are too steep to be a good mountain biking area, however groups have recently found spectacular routes through the area and offer them as guided routes (such as Adam’s bike tours). Plus with the arrival of e-bike rental at Chiavenna station has opened the miles of mountain tracks in the valleys to families and less experienced cyclists. For an unforgettable mountainbike route try the “Tracciolino” route in Val Codera.
Horse Riding
With the Gruppo Equestre Valchiavenna (+39 339 3550786) at Samolaco you can make accompanied tours on horseback from 1 hour to 1 day. Fees: 1 hour 16,00 euro – 2 hours 30,00 euro – 1 day 60,00 euro. You can contact them also by email.
